August 8, 2005...First Day of School for Jonathan in another school:
It was very hard to leave
Jonathan in the care of "strangers" this morning. Everyone at Wayside
Baptist Preschool has become "family" to the Wades. Jonathan had a little
sad face when I left him and I cried as I rounded the corner to get in my
car. I hope other parents who have their kids in Wayside realize the gift
they have been given, Godly teachers who genuinely love their children and
who have their best interests at heart. The education that Jonathan got at
Wayside was invaluable.

May 2004... a letter from a loving family
Dear Parents and friends:
My daughter has been given an opportunity to
be a part of a private school which goes through eighth grade and our family
feels this chance may not present itself again; therefore with great regret,
Lauren will not be returning to Wayside for the next school year. This has
been a very difficult decision that has weighed heavily in our hearts since
we are so happy here at Wayside.
I will miss the Wayside teachers and the
school tremendously. This school has meant so much to my daughter and me.
There truly isn’t a better preschool out there in my opinion.
From the nursery to the administration this
school is filled with loving and caring people that I will miss seeing
everyday. Miss Patricia and Miss Amparo have been great influences in my
child's life and in mine. These great women are also great mothers and great
teachers. Miss Elsa has the heart of an angel and she is a very special
person. Although I did not have the privilege of having Miss Stella as my
daughters’ teacher, I know she too is an amazing person and teacher. I am
honored to have known them all.
I
wanted to give a special thank you to two moms who really have worked hard
with me and have always lend a helping hand when I’ve needed it; Teena Marie
(C.J.’s mom) and Kathy Lynn (Julia’s mom) both of you have been heaven sent!
It has been a pleasure knowing you.
I thought of something special each and
every one of your kids has given my daughter and myself, and if Lauren could
express herself better, I think she might say:
Adrian
- I will miss all your daily compliments; the way you notice if my shoes are
new or if I have-on a new pair of earrings. You are such a special boy.
Adam— My first puppy-love... I’ll miss
holding your hand on the way to the playground! My mom thinks we made a cute
preschool couple.
C.J. &
Nicholas — My two big brothers!!! Who looked after me all the time and made
sure I was safe. I will miss having you both take care of me.
Joseph (or how Lauren says it Jofish...)
—
You were the closest to my age in our class and we had similar growing
pains. You are so polite with my Mommy all the time; I just know you are
going to be a wonderful and polite young man destined for great things.
Alessio -
I’ll miss playing with you and watching Miss
Amparo chase after you... I know you too will grow up to be a very caring
and independent young man.
Gabby — I’ll miss trading toys with you and
the way you always ask my mom if you look pretty today... You are beautiful
inside and out.
Emily - my
most mature friend. I will miss your conversations with my mom and how you
like to keep the rest of the class in line. You are going to have a bright
future, I just know it!
Catarina — You were my first best friend!
I’ll never forget you. I’ve learned so much from you. I will miss not seeing
you everyday. You are so sweet to my Mommy and me!
Julia - Oh my dearest friend, Julia!
As Dorothy said to the Scarecrow, “I’ll miss you most of all!” I will miss
seeing your sweet face every morning and playing with you everyday. I know
you too will grow-up to be a wonderful young lady!
Miss Amparo
— Thank you for all your guidance. I know my
mommy would ask your advice a lot and it always seem to work! Thank you for
your discipline and most of all your love. It was felt and received!
A note from Mom; I want you all to know that
I will miss your kids so much! I truly looked forward to seeing them in the
morning and how they would run up to me to say hello and well it was the
sunshine of my day!
I hope to see you all in the summer! Thank
you for memories that will last me a lifetime!
Love, Mitze M. Pinon and family

Thank you to God and Teachers
Thank you To God and Teachers,
Lord my master let the Holy Spirit talk through my
lips let my heart and hands be cleansed before I come to you. Lord I
thank you with all my heart for your unconditional love and for putting
Wayside into my family lives. May I always humble myself before I come
to you and all my doings so I may learn.
When we first came to Wayside I knew God but
didn’t have faith. The first year Amber was here you all know you she
got really sick. That’s when the Lord put Ms. Amparo into my family’s
life. What a blessing he gave us. So I thank you Ms. Amparo for you
unconditional love and understanding and always being there especially
when I wasn’t. It was a struggle for me to change my ways but I knew
this was what I wanted that gentle and kind way you all have. Thank you
Father!
As I observe the loving and firm ways you all have
I knew this is what I wanted. Time started to go by then I started to
realize you all were truly sincere. Wow- this is what the Lord put into
our lives.
So I thank you for your patience, understanding,
time (because I know I took a lot of your time). I thank the Lord for
your guidance, patience, kindness, and your gentle ways, your teachings
- it showed me how to approach my daughter and others through kind words
that come from my lips without directly telling me. So God has worked
miracles in my life. I thank the Lord for your faith and love for him.
He knew right where to place us and you were the chosen ones. I was one
of your students on the out side just trying to gather all the
information I could from of all of you. And you always had time thank
you.
Ms. Elizabeth - thank you for your humor and the
few times we had a chance to have a quiet talk and sharing with me the
things you were doing with the kids. I sat there and said wow-these
teachers put so much time and thought into their work with love.
Ms. Michelle - this class is where I had to start
to grow faster. The question I ask myself is what did I need. It was
simple to say but was hard to discipline myself. I had to really get
down on my knees and ask the Lord to show and learn to apply his teaches
into my daily life so I could grow and be able to grow with my child
that he gave us. She was by-passing me in many area’s, especially her
spiritually growth; even though I was still rebelling as a child but my
heart and ears were open. I would listen to you so calmly talk to the
children and showed me indirectly how to approach children. Because
there were a few times you corrected me with a gentle touch... thank
you.
Ms. Kathi - you probably knew where Amber got her
strong will from, me... so I thank you for helping me through my fears
with her learning, and taking the extra time to guild me. It was an
incredible and a beautiful experience watching her grow so much this
year.
It was a blessing for her growth and what a
blessing it was to watch it all happen.
I thank the Lord and all of you for these three
years. It was a growing experience I’ll never forget a very comfortable
feeling knowing your child is in loving and caring hands, watching your
child running to school is also a great feeling.
Being able to grow with your child in the right
way and to appreciate them is a delight to appreciate from the littlest
to the biggest achievements.
Miss Gail and Ondina you two were never too busy
for me. Always took the time to listen whatever I needed or whenever I
needed to express my feelings.
This school was not a school it was the doors to
God!
Peggy Rodriguez (Amber's mother)
